MICSLtd.com Scottish Travellers 1 (Annandale SC) Report

The ITCA (GBR) Intermediate Youth Squad reigned supreme in the light and shifty conditions of leg one to the Scottish Toppers Inland Championships at Annandale. Squad members Jordan Black from Loch Earn SC and Jessica Campbel, an Annadale local were in dominant form leading the way often by a significant margin. Behind the leading pair was a real dogfight with frequent place chaging the order of the day. In the end it was the GBR Junior squads Alexander Still who faught through to third overall. Well it's all over at Datchet and not a boat got wet. Look forward to seeing you all at Annandale this weekend. Let's hope for some more wind.

Datchet Nationwide

A healthy turnout of Scots at the first Nationwide but sadly no wind. Good news for Aaron who is stranded at home having planned to fly down (uber-posh!). Fortunately the weather is beautiful and the lack of planes is making for a very peaceful weekend. Picture shows the view which greeted the Scots on arrival last night.

New Outhaul cleat launched

New Boom now available

Well done Topper, following feedback at last years Nationals the Topper now has a new outhaul cleat mounting bracket.

As we had all discovered, the old booms with the cleat and 'plate' arrangement with the two rivets were susceptible to breaking at the rivet hole. Now there is a new system available with a single rivet on the compressed upper side of the boom which has hopefully solved any issues. And the new bracket is not stainless steel so there should be less corrosion around the rivet holes too!

Think your boom might be about to break, check the rivet holes for stress cracks. Is it worth the risk now a much improved option is available.

Please also remember to BOOK NOW for the Inland championships at Grafham. Don't get caught out by the late entry fee after this Friday the 16th March as the event is now only two weeks away.
