Craftinsure Nationwide 4 - Largs

I am pleased to report on a very successful Nationwide hosted by a friendly and welcoming (yes welcoming) Largs Sailing Club. The weather gods were up to their usual tricks making for very testing conditions despite the rest of the country being battered by gales most of the weekend.

Still, testing conditions is what Topper sailors are bred for and over 150 young sailors demonstrated their skills on the championship course laid in the Largs Channel.

With the shifting and changeable wind it was difficult to avoid the snakes and ladders with almost everyone picking up a high score at some point. I say almost because Robbie Robinson sailed an almost flawless series to take first place.

First Scot was again Alexander Still in 11th (10th male) with Sammi Foster next in 30th (4th female).

Rosalind Dunlop picked up the prize for the highest placed Largs SC sailor.

Full results are available on sailracer.

I hope to see you all Loch Tummel SC Next weekend where I have the pleasure of being your OOD.

  1. This was Rachel's first big event except for the Windward Mark. She had a ball but was knackered at the end of the weekend.
But off to Tummel this weekend so see you all there
