East Lothian serves up a cracker!

Sorry no results available on line yet but I can tell you East Lothian served up a really smashing weekend of competition for the FORTY Toppers who took part in Scottish Topper Event 4 which took part alongside the annual multi class regatta. Classes this year included the Scottish Skiffs, Lasers, Laser Radials Optimists and RS 200's.

I can also tell you conditions were very testing, especially on Saturday with big waves following several days of prevailing North Easterlies and sudden squalls causing lots of exciting downwind pitch-poling conditions for the Skiffs.

Only two races were held on Saturday, with three more on Sunday. Andrew Macgowan was on form and dominated the Main fleet with Jamie, Emily, Alexander and Angus all doing well too. It was good to see Rory Kilgore doing well with Calum MacIver challenging hard despite the long drive from the North!

I do know that Sammi had a bad day on Saturday having to battle back from last place after missing the upwind gate in the first race and then breaking her boom just before the second.

Kyle Maxwell-Cox was well up there and Patrick Shellcock and Iain Symon are becoming more familiar faces at the front too.

I did not take my boat and spent my weekend enjoying the sunshine and ferrying the troops between Tantallaon and the sailing club!
