The Scottish Topper Traveller Series comes to Chanonry on the 4/5 July - see our web site <http://www.chanonry.org.uk> for more details. Basically there will be two fleets or classes for entrants;
1. Main Topper Fleet - 3 races per day
2. Regatta Fleet for beginners - 2 races per day
The regatta fleet will race over a short inshore course from the club start line. These will be fairly informally run with plenty of briefing and advice for competitors.
The main fleet will be racing from a committee boat start outside the cruiser moorings. Anyone who has taken part in the RYA Area Squads (e.g.
NoSSS) or been through the Start Racing course should be able to compete in this fleet but the choice is yours and we can help your decision on the day.
In addition we hope to run pre-event training on Friday the 3rd probably starting on the water at 10:00. This depends on the Topper Class providing a coach; more on that to follow.
We in the north don't often get a chance to participate in such an event at such close hand so please come along and make it very well attended so that the event will be repeated in the north in future! Please put these dates in your diaries and make plans. It would help me if you could let me know what those plans are!
